What Should I Book?
A Client’s Guide to Booking the Right Hair Appointment
Booking a hair appointment shouldn’t feel confusing — but with so many service names, it’s totally normal to feel unsure. If you’ve ever wondered “Am I booking the right thing?” or “Why can’t I just book color?” — this guide is for you.
Choosing the correct service helps us:
Schedule enough time
Give accurate pricing
Deliver the results you actually want
Let’s break it down ✨
Haircut Services
@thehair.oracle @evelynshairclubb @mullet.maker @Abigailgutierrez1787
Curly Cut (For Curly Hair)
Designed specifically for curly hair.
Book a curly cut if you:
Wear your hair curly most of the time
Want your curls shaped to enhance their natural pattern
Need balance, volume control, or curl definition
Curly cuts are done using curl-specific techniques and customized to your curl pattern, density, and lifestyle.
📌 Please arrive wearing your hair in its natural curly state — clean, dry, styled as you normally wear it, and with no hair ties, clips, or buns.
This allows us to see how your curls naturally fall and ensures the most accurate cut.
Haircut (Wash, Cut & Style)
Best if you want the full experience — shampoo, haircut, and blow-dry style.
Dry Cut
A budget-friendly option. Come in with clean, dry hair worn naturally.
No wash or styling included.
Neck Trim / Cleanup
Maintenance between haircuts. This is not a full haircut — just a quick cleanup.
Hair Color Services Explained
Gloss / Toner
Book this if you want to:
Refresh faded color
Add shine
Adjust tone (cooler, warmer, brighter)
🚫 A gloss does not lighten hair and does not cover gray.
Root Retouch (NO BLEACH)
Book this service if:
You have visible regrowth
You’re covering grays
Your mids and ends are already even and the correct tone
📌 This service is for new growth only (typically 1–2 inches).
🚫 A root retouch does NOT involve bleach or lightening.
It is strictly for depositing color to cover regrowth or gray hair.
If you’re looking to go lighter at the roots or add brightness, you’ll need to book a highlight or lightening serviceinstead.
All-Over Color (NO BLEACH)
This is one of the most misunderstood services.
All-Over Color is for:
One solid color from roots to ends
Going darker or staying the same level
Enhancing natural color, going darker, or covering gray
🚫 All-Over Color does NOT include bleach or lightening.
🚫 It cannot make hair lighter than it currently is.
If you want to go lighter, add brightness, or lift your hair — you’ll need a highlight or lightening service, not an all-over color.
⚠️ If you have previous color, box dye, or uneven tones, a consultation is strongly recommended.

Highlight Services
@looksbylyssarae @abigailgutierrez1787 @bellascalahair
Face Frame Highlight
A face frame highlight is the most minimal version of a partial highlight.
This service includes just a few foils placed along the hairline around your face to add brightness and dimension.
Book a face frame highlight if:
You want a small pop of brightness around the face
You don’t need lightening throughout the head
You want a quick, high-impact refresh
Partial Highlight
Brightness around the face and crown
Ideal for subtle changes or maintenance
Full Highlight
Brightness throughout the entire head
Best for major blonde transformations
✨ Not sure which one you need? We can help decide.
Balayage
Book balayage if you want:
A lived-in, blended look
Softer grow-out
Hand-painted lightening
Balayage is a lightening service that creates a natural, dimensional finish.
📌 Balayage typically lifts hair about 4–5 levels per appointment.
If you’re starting very dark or want to go significantly lighter (for example, platinum or very bright blonde), this may require multiple sessions or a different lightening approach such as traditional highlights.
A gloss or toner is often included to perfect the final tone.
⚠️ If you have previous color, box dye, or uneven hair, a consultation is strongly recommended before booking balayage.
Vivid / Fashion Colors
@mandaharsche @vshairdos @evelynshairclubb @thehair.oracle
Vivid or fashion hair color includes bright shades like pink, blue, purple, and red, as well as creative hair designs, color blocking, and rainbow hair.
📌 Most vivid/fashion color services require a bleach-out or lightening service first.
Bright, pastel, and high-impact colors will not show up properly on dark hair or previous color without lifting the hair beforehand.
The amount of lightening needed depends on your starting hair color, color history (including box dye), and the type of fashion color or design you’re wanting.
👉 A consultation is required for vivid hair color services to assess hair health, determine the level of lift needed, and provide accurate pricing.
Bleach & Tone
A bleach and tone service is for guests wanting to go significantly lighter, such as blonde or platinum.
This service includes:
Lightening the hair with bleach
Toning to achieve the desired blonde shade
📌 A bleach and tone is an all-over lightening service and is not the same as highlights or balayage.
👉 A consultation is required for all bleach and tone services to assess hair health, review color history, and provide accurate timing and pricing.
Bleach Root Retouch
A bleach root retouch is for maintaining an existing blonde or platinum look at the roots only.
📌 This service is for no more than 8 weeks of regrowth.
More than 8 weeks of regrowth may require a different lightening service or additional time and cost.
⚠️ This service involves bleach and is not the same as a color root retouch.
